Birth & Postpartum Planning
Guiding you to plan the birth & postpartum of your dreams.
Birth Planning
$59 - Private Workshop
$30/person - Group Class You can never really plan your birth. How it plays out - when labor starts, how fast it goes, etc. - is not in your control. So why create a birth plan? A birth plan will allow you to educate yourself around the choices you DO have during your birth and to let your birth team know exactly what you need in order to feel supported and taken care of. During this two-hour session, we will create a personal birth plan that will prepare you for your birth, allow you to become familiar with the pros and cons of each option available to you, and help you create the best possible birth experience for you and your baby.
Plan can be tailored to cesarean sections. |
Postpartum Planning
$59 - Private Workshop
$30/person - Group Class Making plans for the postpartum period is just as important as making a birth plan or planning the nursery. Why do you need to prenatally create a postpartum plan? Postpartum can be unpredictable. Postpartum work can be hard and the postpartum period is generally focused on the baby, not on the mother. During this two-hour session, we will plan out how to prepare for the weeks after birth focusing on nutrition and hydration, support, setting boundaries, relationships, and self care.
Can be tailored for families of multiples. 20% discount applies. |
What is a Maternal Support Practitioner?
A Maternal Support Practitioner is another term for a "doula". A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. Do I still need a doula if I have a birth plan?
Absolutely! The in-person support is invaluable. I can recommend some awesome doulas if you need help hiring one. |
Is birth planning only for all-natural, vaginal birth?
No way! Every type of birth deserves a "plan" - one where you research your options so you can make an informed decision. Even if you're having a cesarean section, you'll want extra knowledge of what's happening, and that's where planning comes in! |
